How Wicd (possibly) saved my life.

This is just to report that I installed Slackware on a new Acer M Laptop and I could not get the wifi to work. The WIFI routers (at work and at home) were getting crazy when I tried to connect which was embarrassing (and possibly life threatening:-). I uninstalled completely networkmanager and Networkmanagement. I installed them again but now I installed wicd and I am online with wicd - Problem Solved

I recall once when the fortune of the day saved my life. I was about to drop a plugged-in blow dryer into the bathwater I was partially submerged in, when I recalled a past fortune, something to do with either Bo Diddley, or maple syrup, and I became distracted enough that I forgot about the blow dryer and settled back to smoke a corn cob pipe, filled with Erinmore pipe tobacco (rum flavoured, wine-dipped!)

So, I join you in thanking software, scripts, and the like, for all the life saving they do.

cheers,

wicd rocks... .IMHO simply because it connects to a wireless network from bash using wicd-client
