How to play midi with Ensoniq 1370?

It is PCI card, and it plays midis with windows well.
I've read MIDI-HOWTO, but it didn't done the job.. Downloaded and installed timidity++, setuid it root, and tried to use it but it gives that: Couldn't open output device
This is what I get via lsmod:
Code:
snd_seq_midi            6688  0
snd_virmidi             3908  0
snd_seq_virmidi         5760  1 snd_virmidi
snd_seq_midi_event      6144  2 snd_seq_midi,snd_seq_virmidi
snd_seq                47760  3 snd_seq_midi,snd_seq_virmidi,snd_seq_midi_event
snd_mpu401_uart         6144  0
snd_pcm_oss            49704  0
snd_mixer_oss          17792  1 snd_pcm_oss
snd_ens1370            15588  5
snd_rawmidi            19748  4 snd_seq_midi,snd_seq_virmidi,snd_mpu401_uart,snd_ens1370
snd_seq_device          6792  3 snd_seq_midi,snd_seq,snd_rawmidi
snd_pcm                83592  4 snd_pcm_oss,snd_ens1370
snd_timer              20356  2 snd_seq,snd_pcm
snd_page_alloc          9352  2 snd_ens1370,snd_pcm
gameport                3840  1 snd_ens1370
snd_ak4531_codec        6784  1 snd_ens1370
snd                    45540  23 snd_seq_midi,snd_virmidi,snd_seq_virmidi,snd_seq_midi_event,snd_seq,snd_mpu401_uart,snd_pcm_oss,snd_mixer_oss,snd_ens1370,snd_rawmidi,snd_seq_device,snd_pcm,snd_timer,snd_ak4531_codec
soundcore               7136  1 snd
and these are some files and its permissions:
$ ls -l /dev/snd/*
crw-rw-rw- 1 root audio 116, 0 Oct 16 22:06 /dev/snd/controlC0
crw-rw-rw- 1 root audio 116, 32 Oct 17 01:16 /dev/snd/controlC1

crw-rw-rw- 1 root audio 116, 33 Oct 16 22:06 /dev/snd/timer
$ ls -l /dev/sound/*
crw-rw--w- 1 root audio 14, 12 Oct 16 22:06 /dev/sound/adsp

crw-rw--w- 1 root audio 14, 16 Oct 17 01:16 /dev/sound/mixer1
[/code]
Can't get what's wrong..
Oh, and the user I try with is in 'audio' group.
I've been wandering about that for at least a week.. why it have to be so hard when only the 3-click-winamp.5-install solves the problem..
Ideas about doing that on Linux?
