Hi. I have Slackware 10.2 with 2.6.20.4 kernel on my laptop SONY VAIO S5HRP. Does anybody know how to mount and enable the internal(not via usb) MS(duo pro)-reader? Or in case of the other laptops how to do it with another card-readers(MC,SD,...)?

Hi. These links are for the usual usb flash devices mount, as I see. Well, if I had a usb card reader, there will be no problem, but it's internal in the laptop and I want to mount the card sony memory stick pro duo (MS), which, as I think, must be detected not as sda (or uba, as in my case for the usb flash). Or is used via scsi support...?
Saw a report but I can't remember where that the internal card readers specifications have been kept from the LINUX community. There are a few chip sets that are supported but most are not. SONY has the reputation of being less than cooperative with whatever they use. External readers on usb are supported since they conform to somewhat of a standard interface. Bug SONY for a driver!!!
you'll need support for scsi devices, usb storage and a host controller(uhci/ohci + ehci for usb2.0) in your kernel.
Yes, I have the scsi support and I see the host controllers, in particular high speed usb device using ehci_hcd uba:uba1. Perhaps I don't understand smth, but I don't know what name such internal cardreader device must have. After dmesg I can't find any comment that could point to the device type. If it is mounted like usb, there is no other seen usb devices (like ubc or smth like that) except for uba1 (usb flash drive, connected to the standard usb port).

As expected, there is no linux driver in the technical support for SONY So, I suppose, the best way is to buy an external usb cardreader, that'll be mounted as a usual flash
