How to install the Intel cdv-gfx driver in Slackware (Atom N2600)
I would like to know if someone has already downloaded the cdv-gfx driver from Intel and installed it in Slackware running on a Atom N2600 processor.
There are instructions from Intel but I would would greatly appreciate some help!

Thanks in advance

cvd-gfx graphics relies on PowerVR, which Intel unfortunately has refused to help the Linux community with documentation and coding. So, support for it on Linux is going to be very limited. This was the only document I could find:

Thank you for your answer.
Intel has released the code, but it is licenced.
So it has to be installed by the end user --and it is not straightforward.
Solutions found:
1) Switch to Meego which is of course working fine with the N2600's GMA3600 Graphics, natively.
2) Switch to Ubuntu 10.04 LTS where you can in 5 minutes download and install yourself the Intel GMA3600 proprietary driver.
In both cases the Intel graphics are working satisfactorily.
I personnally chose 2) until some competent altruistic developer creates an installer program (like NVIDIA's) to compile and install the GMA3600 proprietary driver into Slackware's kernel by the end user --in a simple and straightforward manner.

I am also struggling with this. However I do not want to use another distro.
My n2600 is now command line only (Slackware 14) which is fine for the moment but I would like to be able to start kde if possible.
I do not understand why this driver needs to be incorporated into the kernel. Can't it be loaded as a module?

I am happy with the 11.5W power consumption of the entire PC but if hardware support for it is limited I may scrap the whole thing.

If I have some spare time I will download the intel driver and see if I can try to get it to work.

There is a similar howto as the one for ubunto available for fedora16 :
