I'm finally gonna replace my ATI Radeon 9700 pro with a GF 6800 card... However i'm not sure if there are procedures i have to do other than just shutdown, replace cards, start up again...
I was wondering how i can remove my ati fglrx drivers (which apparently show in lsmod) in my slack machine, and if there is anything else i should do before i replace the card or not.
You can just do what you said, shutdown change cards, and install NVIDIA drivers without uninstalling the others, just remember to change your xorg.conf.
Thanks, it all works now, except that the machine froze on me once, but im gonna see if it does it again or not. (no, i don't have rivafb loaded, but it IS in the kernel.. i might remove it from there and see)
