well, first of all, you go here to download them https://support.ati.com/ics/support/...asp?deptID=894

I would love to tell you more, but I can't seem to get them working, so I don't want to risk telling you the wrong info.

In /etc/X11, you'll find a couple of usable xorg.conf files. *copy* the VESA one to xorg.conf, and you should be able to get back into X no problem.

Use the driver for xorg.conf from ATI. I know it's an RPM and slack doesn't support RPMs. Download it anyway. Convert it to a TGZ with rpm2tgz, and install it. Then run fglrxconfig.

search around this forum, there are many tutorials on how to compile and set it up.. a few i've started or commented on, so you can limit your search to my nickname if you want

doesn't neccesarly mean that i actually ever got them to work though

good luck.. seriously
