I use pkgtool, it does the job for me.

You could but why generate a list that will get outdated when you can query /var/log/packages/ directly (see dugan's reply). Also redundant use of cat.

Oh well, I tried pkgtool and install package from another directory (/tmp).
Saying "no" package by package is slow.
The remove is a different story.

I find it is much easier to just install packages directly via installpkg /location/to/package.txz. It will even accept wildcards, although you can just use tab completion.

And with removepkg, you can just type the name of the program, not needing to worry about the version. (removepkg mozilla-firefox)

I used the "install package" because there is no "list packages" in pkgtool.
I should have used "remove package" instead.

To be honest, I don't even remember the last time I opened pkgtool. It's probably been at least 5 years.
