I don't know about KDE, sorry, so this is a general reply. There are often gui's to set mouse and touchpad behaviours and in the gui there may (there is in Gnome) be an option to de/select touchpad clicking. This is what I would be looking for.

Code:
synclient -l
will list all the capabilities for the touchpad.

Every listed configuration option can be controlled through synclient, for example:
Code:
$ synclient PalmDetect=1 (to enable palm detection)
$ synclient TapButton1=1 (configure button events)
$ synclient TouchpadOff=1 (disable the touchpad)
you can make the changes permanent by adding them to /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-synaptics.conf

copied and pasted shamelessly from the archwiki. i highly suggest reading the page for more info: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php...tics#Synclient

In /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d you should see a file called 50-synaptics.conf edit this file and to disable tap to click these lines should read:

Option "MaxTapTime" "0"
Option "MaxTapMove" "0"

If you want a GUI way to do this you can install kcm_touchpad:
