how to connect to internet ?????

hi, i tried almoust everything to connect to internet, but the slackware 9.1 with 2.4. kernel doesn't recocnize my modem
intel(R) 536EP V92 modem
when i configure kppp and query modem nothing happens

i downloaded some drivers for suse and mandrake that i found but don't now how to install them
it has some kind off manual but don't understand it very well
help please!

Well.....maybe SLACKWARE like SUSE does not see your network cards or modem. Suse 8.1 did not see the network card on my DELL Precision 220 workstation. I had to install a new card. It worked.

Go here (Intel Linux modem driver download page) and download the 1st, generic one (not the one for any distro) It says UNCOMPILED next to it.

Unpack, look for a README or INSTALL file inside for instructions.

If got stuck, post.

may be you can try slmodem
go to www.smlink.com
just follow the installation instruction.
