I'm changing my main computer from mandrake 9.0 to slackware 9.1, both systems automatically use emu10k for my soundblaster live sound card, how in slackware do I change it to snd-emu10k?
in your /etc/modules.conf file should have....alias sound emu10k1
in your /etc/rc.d/rc.modules you need to un comment the line for SB driver........also you need to install the emu10k1 driver and emu-tools........you can get these from sourceforge........

open sound system supports many sound cards, even soundblaster, so I went to controll panel and at top selected open sound system, I opened Xine and unmuted "again", and then checked /etc/rc.d/rc.modules and soundblaster is still commented but everything still works, because of the open sound system support, enabling it in /etc/rc.d/rc.modules is un neccesary...
