how to change default permissions for new user/group

I'm looking to set/change the permissions for new users or to be more specific users which are part of a specific group. I know this isn't 100% slackware specific but seeing as its a slackware machine I'm working on this on, here it is.

Additionally, I'd like to ideally create a HOME dir in a different location based on the group the user is in.

Thanks in advance...

setfacl is probably what you want.

The HOME dir can be set through useradd or adduser. You could write a small script to set it based on the group.
