Question How to backup new built kernel

Hello,

I have built new kernel 2.6.11.10 and I would like to
know what directories and files is necessary to keep. I want to save a MB on
my disk and I would like to delete some directories.

Thank you.

just tar cfvz backup-kernel.tar.gz /usr/src/linux-xx.xx.xx

You just need to think that your kernel is compiled and stracted at /usr/src (or whetever you unpacked it) and you already compiled .. so you can backup the dir and when want it back you only need to make modules_install and cp the bzImage and System.map
