How to access a PCMCIA HDD

I have an old Viper 260MB PCMCIA HDD. When I boot, in dmesg I see the drive in slot 0. My question is, how do i mount it?

What /dev should I look for it? Any answers would be appreciated

What does dmesg report after you put it in? You should be able to find what kind of event it registered which will tell you what type of device (/dev/sda1 for example) to mount.

Hi!

I`m using a PCMCIA card reader with my notebook. The flash cards in the card reader are named in the IDE schema (in my case /dev/hde). It seems /dev/hda to /dev/hdd are reserved for the IDE controller, so /dev/hde will be the next available device name.

I'll have to check that later. Using the only pcmcia slot for wireless to get on the net. Will let you know
