I want to install Slackware 9.1 on my old Toshiba Satellite 2535cds.
How should I partition my hard drive. I only have 4gb to work with.

Two options:
/dev/hda1- rest of the hard drive (/)
/dev/hda2- 256 or 512 for swap

or:
/dev/hda1- 64 mb for /boot
/dev/hda2- 256 or 512 for swap
/dev/hda3- rest of the hard drive (/)

Either of the two above options will work fine. Personally, I just go with a swap partition and a root partition. It's more than sufficient for your average setup.
