My apologies if this has been discussed before. I did do a search, but I couldn't find the answer. How long is each release supported for? Thanks for the replies!
I don't know if Pat has an official policy, but if you read through the Slackware Security Advisories on the Slackware homepage, you will see that he and the Slackware Security Team still release updates for some packages for Slackware 8.1, which was released about 5 1/2 years ago back in 2002. That's pretty impressive, IMHO, and a lot longer support cycle than many other distros.
Thanks for the replies!! I was pretty sure that I had recently seen Pat patch stuff from Slackware 8 or 8.1. I just wasn't sure if he actually had an official time frame on how long he will patch a release for.
