slackpkg would be helpful here IMO (in /extra)

point the slackpkg mirrors file to a 12 mirror.

Code:
man slackpkg
options like
Code:
update
upgrade-all
install-new
clean-system
would be helpful

you can do this from current (after 11.0), but not from =< 11.0

***Be aware that clean-system will remove all packages you have compiled yourself (and other non-official packages) if you do not uncheck them from the list.

Hi,

Did you read the Slackware 12.0 CHANGES_AND_HINTS.TXT, UPGRADE.TXT and RELEASE_NOTES?

I would recommend that you read those references before you do anything on the system.
