how do I record speech with a microphone in KDE-4
 
How do you record speech with a microphone?
In KDE-3.5.X there was an application called krec (or krecord), I'm looking for something similar (or better :).
My system is KDE-4.3.4 slackware-current.
Can anyone suggest a good application as I'm not very familiar with KDE-4 yet. Preferably something that is KDE or Qt based, I try to avoid gtk if I can :)

I think this should work. I think there are builds in the pending queue over at slackbuilds.org.

Most used : Probably ' Audacity ', but gtk based ( wxGTK ).
