How do I get Slackware to work on VMware?
I have found good information about the question "How do I get VMware to work on Slackware?", but not about the reverse.
I am trying to install Slackware 8.1 as a guestsystem with VMware Workstation 3.1.1 (on Win 2000). In my first try, I was in the setup procedure and was creating a bootdisk. Setup did format the floppy, but when it should begin to write files to it, VMware crached. In my second try, I skipped the bootdisk, and did successfully (or so it did seem) run the whole installation process. But after rebooting, it stops just after the initial boot screen (about BIOS, memory, disks etc). What is wrong?
When I created this guest, I choose "Linux" as type of system. Should I have choosen "FreeBSD"? I tried to change this afterwards, but that didn't help.
I have successfully installed RedHat before.
