how do I get slack back in bootloader menu
Well, I recently wrapped up my slackware 9.1 install(first time installing it). no problems really. however when I got it running and I got my X-Server up I ran liloconfig to add windows back to the bootloader menu. I restarted my machine and windows was the only thing listed on the menu, Slack wasn't. Can anyone help me to get slack back on the menu?
also what file do I edit to get a graphical login, and where is it located? |
for graphical you need to do init 4
type lilo and it will show linux added, to get slack in the bootmenu |
well, I figured thanks for trying to help. Part of my question never got answered by you though, what file do I need to modify in order to default to a graphical login and where is it located.
Also, How do I change the resolution of the graphical login screen? And, why is that I can open Mozilla as Root, but not as my account I set up on here?? |

Yup. Change...
id:3:initdefault: ...to... id:4:initdefault: |
What version of windows are you running? Does Win and Slack reside on the same disk?
You could check the online book at http://slackware.com/book/index.php?source=x1776.html Just remember that XP, 2000 and NT4 all use similar bootmanagers, so use the NT directions for anything that is NT based. I dual boot myself, and you will need to remember to follow the steps each time you change lilo or the new kernels will not show up... Hope this helps |
I got it straightened out
