How can I write data to a NTFS partition while in Linux?

Hi!

How can I write data to a NTFS partition while I'm using Linux? Is it a safe and stable process?

Thank you!

first you need to get ntfs drivers. THis lets you write and read ntfs partitions. Newer distros have these preinstalled now. Check whether you have it yet by going to your distros mainpage or something. Otherwise google for 'linux ntfs drivers'

Writing to NTFS is a very safe process (i.e., you can't trash your partition). What it is not, however, is reliable. The drivers will always refuse if there is even the slightest possibility of corruption. Therefore, writes don't work all the time. There is also a method that uses Filesystem in USErspace, which is very reliable. The problem is that it is also very slow.

(This question has been asked/answered ad nauseum on this site. The short answer is 'Yes, it can be done. No, it is not recommended. No, it is not reliable.)

First, search this forum.

Second, search this forum.

Third, search this forum.

Fourth, Good Luck.

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but search. You will find MANY threads on this.
