Can anyone tell me how can I remove the annoying pc speaker sound ? I tried editing /etc/inputrc file and uncommenting the line: set bell-style none but I still get annoying beeps whenever I do something wrong. I'd like a solution that doesn't involve cutting the speaker wire or unloading the pc speaker kernel module . Anyone ?
Unless your PC is a proprietary case/motherboard combo with a custom unified connector, you can just unplug the speaker from the motherboard. Personally, I never connect up a PC speaker. I just plug in the power button and that's it. No blinking lights, no reset switch, no PC speaker--just the power button. It's all I need!
One is taking out pc speaker support from kernel, and there was another solution to turn it off in the terminals (you have ugly beeps when u press something wrong ), try searching in the forum i remember seeing a post about this.
