How's xorg-server-1.14.2 doing in /testing?
Just wondering if it should be moved into the main tree. It works the same for me here, but I seem to recall there could be some regressions with randr or with multiple monitors (at least with an earlier version of 1.14.x).
Has anyone been testing this and would like to report on how it's working? Thanks! |
Haven't had any issues here Patrick.
Have you checked the new LTS and Stable kernel's from kernel.org yet? 3.10.10 is out along with 3.4.60. |
Running it on Radeon HD3200 and HD6870 with kernel 3.11 rc5 (have to upgrade to stable 3.11) and the OSS radeon drivers without any problems for quite some time here.

I ran it since it was released in -current without any problem and it worked on my NVidia GPU as well
It also worked with the latest 3.11 kernel as well |

Well i use xorg-server-1.14.1 from March 15 and i don't have any problems. Also use 3.11 kernel without problems.Oh one suggestion is to recompile kernel with CONFIG_SCHED_AUTOGROUP there is a big difference in performance when you compile something and running apps
|
tuxbg, starting your compiles under 'nice' will work much better than the CONFIG_SCHED_AUTOGROUP uglyness.
Back on topic, Xorg from testing/ been running fine here. |
No problem here, xorg testing work perfectly on Radeon HD 5700 Series.

xrandr didn't works to join multiple gpu
Kernel 3.10.9
X: 1.14.1 xrandr: 1.4.1 video hardware: radeon HD4250 and nvidia 9500GT xrandr can only work with multiple gpu as different screen, can't panning them together as one giant screen. on the other hand, Xinerama can do both without any problem. As googling internet, there are still very few info on xrandr 1.4, and xrandr can only see 1 gpu at each screen (xrandr --listproviders). Anyway, Xinerama still works. |

I'd also be curious if this is still an issue with 1.14.2, since I had known of similar reports with 1.14.0 or 1.14.1. Also, 1.13.x works for the above? |

X version 1.13.x has same problem for xrandr, no problem with xinerama. well, opengl(3d) only works on my screens connected to nvidia card with proprietary nvidia driver, and getting warning "missing RANDR" on screens with open source radeon driver. |

The reports seem favorable, so I'm probably going to go ahead and make the upgrade in the main tree. Thanks everyone who commented. :) |
