If you use Alien Bob's mirror-slackware-current.sh and exclude /source then it will easily fit on a DVD. I exclude a couple more things as well and my DVD iso is only 1.3GB.

Yes but Slackware was suppose to fit into a single DVD Including Everything.
It's not about how we change it. It's about how Distro is delivered by it's maintainer.

Since there is no official Slackware 13.37 DVD, all this is just speculation anyway.

Just use a Double-Layer DVD disk, man! It have 8.5G.

Or, if you like, a BluRay disk is always for you, with its 40G room ...

You known, for $1.5 you can get a 8.5G DVD disk. I think, Slackware will fit in it.

Then, you have 2 solutions:

1. Avoid the /source tree, in the DVD build.
2. Wait until next day and buy a properly disk.

Then why don't you use slackpkg to upgrade?
Or if you want to make a fresh install, boot on a USB stick and get the source from a local mirror, updated through rsync?

I'm not sure about the sum of sizes of the packages in kdei. But if someone want's a DVD of current, I'd recommend to download only the (maximum 1) package of the kdei-series which one needs. this should save several hundred Megabyte.
