Will we be able to choose at install time whether to use LILO or Grub?

I am ambivalent about Grub. My only attempt to use it was not successful (ca. 2003-4 I think).

To this point I am totally happy with Lilo and will not change until I have a reason.

But curious - was UEFI the driver behind the inclusion of Grub? Or something else like, "by popular demand"?

Will there be an option to not use the ESR of Firefox, like an updated Slackbuild in /extra?

Yes. I think UEFI was the only reason for having GRUB2 added and in the A/ series even.
