help with network manager in slackware 13.37

hey
i wanted to have network manager in slackware 13.37.
i used slackbuilds.org to install networkmanager, network-manager-applet, modemmanager, networ-kmanager-pptp, and all dependencies.
but i cant run applet. when i use nm-applet in console it says"
Code:
** (nm-applet:4951): WARNING **: <WARN>  request_name(): Could not acquire the NetworkManagerUserSettings service.
Error: (9) Connection ":1.124" is not allowed to own the service "org.freedesktop.NetworkManagerUserSettings" due to security policies in the configuration file
so whats problem? i cant figure it out.
by the way, am i doing it right? is this, the "applet", the right way to have nm in kde?
also, i want nm to handle my gsm modem(thats my phone). is there a better way for that?
thx in advance

Are you a member of netdev? if not,
Quote:
# gpasswd -a USER netdev
and see how it works.

did you start rc.networkmanager?
like this (as root):

/etc/rc.d/rc.networkmanager start

then run nm-applet as a regular user

Hello:

I use Internet --> KPPP to connect to the net with my modem, if this is what you are trying to do.

See this post: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...-modem-773492/

i ran rc.networkmanager before, nothing happens, same error.
but everytime i run nm-applet, connection number in error(1.124 in first post) raises.
and by the way, i can use nmcli without any problem. just nm-applet has problem(and i want gui).
thx

almost forgot...
if you want to (and you do) start rc.networkmanager on boot, add this to /etc/rc.d/rc.local:

# Start NetworkManager:
if [ -x /etc/rc.d/rc.networkmanager ]; then
sh /etc/rc.d/rc.networkmanager start
fi

Or you can edit rc.M as is suggested on http://slackbuilds.org/repository/13...etworkManager/
