Help please ATI prob


The new ATI drivers are .run i dont know how to run them or make them into a pkg lol so yeah i cant start x anymore because i tried to update and i couldnt figure it out and my idiotic self went into xorgconfig and set it for ATI radion since i couldnt figure out how to run a .run and now its saying i dont have a ATI or a radion card i have a x1950 any help sorry for typos :S

IIRC if you can pull it up in konqueror you just dbl click it. otherwise i think you run it as a script with the ./<filename> command.

That did not work and the biggist i can get my screen i freakin 8 bits so its huge i cant see crap but when i did open with konquer it just open in text editor

Nvm i figured it out but now x stays blacksreen wont load any ideas whywhen it does it crashes back to bash saying i dont have a ATI its a ATI x1950

Close X Windows and run your drivers installation setup from console.

It's better if you create Slackware packages and install them.
Just run the script with the --help option, it's explained there.
Also, if you reinstall the package, clean in up first. I think, /usr/local/bin/ati or /usr/bin/ati contains the fglrx-uninstall script.
