I just thought of a couple more.
Crystal Ball
Magic Eye
If the programme becomes an application with an icon, these names would be oozing with possibilities.
kikinovak, SnoopDog was a good idea. Perhaps a more familiar Snoopy would work...
w1k0, I had thought of both Sherlock and Clouseau after starting the thread -something about wmaker people? I'm afraid MissMarple would be too long, and Clouseau too hard to spell for non-french-speakers.
LnxSlck and granth both had good ideas. LnxSlck is obviously thoroughly modern, but granth appeals to my Scottish side...
Habitual, how about pimp-my-package?? (although that would imply making changes to package content)
Randicus Draco Albus and Beelzebud thought well with variations of 'spy' and Big Bro'...
"application ... icon ... oozing" No, I certainly don't want any oozing icons! On the other hand, the simple script could be made drag-n-drop aware...
"manage to code all these notable programs" Well, it's just one program -perhaps with various nick-names or aliases... The idea for the program is not new with me -for a long time I've thought about splitting out code from src2pkg which combs through package content for mistakes or "odd" things. However, I'm coding it mostly from scratch but referring to src2pkg routines so I don't forget any edge cases.
