Help getting Dependant Files for Packages

I am just getting started with slackware, and have been fine installing tgz and rpms, but I also want to install some files from source. I have no problem with:
make install
but after I get something installed I cannot get it to run because it says the required [something] is not found. For example, after I install kino, I tried running it but it says that it needs Where can I find such packages and is there a place where I could just install them all so I don't have to do this each time? Also, I looked on the kino homepage and their aren't any links for this particular lib file. Also, I am running KDE.

PS. Not for divx stuff though. You need to go to the manufacturer -

PPS. Also, I believe the file Kino asks about is the encoder lib. You might need to pay for it. If that is the case, you took a wrong turn at "./configure" street. Go back and read "./configure --help" You might need to disable a few things

I have checked there, no luck.
If Kino really isn't free I'll just look around for something else.
