HELP !!!can't find my .bashrc
 
HI,
My first time on the Slack board.I installed Slack yesterday.PRetty good If you want to learn linux.But my .bashrc and .bash_profile files ,which were on my root directory in RH don't seem to exist at all !!!ANY suggestions???

make new ones...
if you liked the old ones copy them over

Yes, by default Slackware doesn't create these files in your users home directory but rather uses the global file in /etc/profile

I usually copy this over and edit accordingly or just create mine from scratch if needed.

Most of the time I'm the only user on my system for desktop use so I just edit the /etc/profile and not bother with creating a .bashrc since editing it won't affect any other users, besides root of course.

Only if you want to update everything at once. If you have your system the way you like it but only want to update the packages you use and or update anything that has a security flaw in it with updates, I'd just manually update the packages and or use www.swaret.org to update your system.
