HDD size not being recognized

if my hdd is on the primarty ide and set to master, bios sees it as 120gb - thats fine
now when i make that 120gb slave and slave on the cable...it only gets seen as 33gb...i even tried cable select
bios settings are set to Auto and are both being detected
any clues?

Sounds like a limitation of your BIOS, have you tried updating it yet?
Also make sure, that the harddrive doesn't have a 'cylinder limit' or something
similar enabled, that would limit the disk size.
