Question HD recovery program

I have download Foremost and Magicrescue to use to recovery data lost in disk formatation... I do like Foremost, it seens to be very good... but Im no expert so I dont know if it is realy good or is just a regular recovery program... it is CLI (what makes me like it more)... But anyone had experience with this or anyother program to give a tip or any advice??

Im using it to recovery data from FAT32 and NTFS partitions... but one thing that I dont like the output when running to recovery large number of files in a disk... it put all together, the problem is that the output can be veeery large, more or less 27k to 40k of files ... and this make everything go very slow when browsing the folder...
Code:
foremost -v -o /REC -t jpg jpeg -i /dev/hda1

How do you want the output to be like?

Does the following code help anyway?

Code:
foremost -v -o /REC -t jpg jpeg -i /dev/hda1 | less

the problem is that when I run foremost, like any recovery program it find a lot of file but it dont split in separated folders with a specific amount in each of them... lets suppose, 1000 files per folder... it simples puts every files in the /REC/jpg/

I dont think less could help because the output that Im talking about is the files saved not the verbose showed in the console...
