havent used slack in a while.. quick question


Hey, im used to gentoo, I just compiled proftpd, how would i get it to boot up with linux :\

I think this is best done by uncomenting this line in /etc/inetd.conf
ftp stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/tcpd proftpd

If it's not present just put it in.

Huh, I didn't get it why you are asking at Slackware forum when you are using Gentoo.
Because Slackers are the best Linux experts ?

dunric he said "havent used slack in a while.. quick question" so it seems he's using Slackware again. And he's used to Gentoo maybe because he was using it before switching back.

anyhow... I just remembered my loved ol' saying:

"When you know Slackware, you know Linux... when you know <other distro>, all you know is <other distro>."

I changed the original text and inserted the <other distro> thing. Don't want to start a distro fight right here. Albeit you can see the original quote at Wikipedia
