Hard drive doesn't seem to mount

Last night i was removing a bunch of stuff that I didn't need using pkgtool and this morning when i turned t computer back on it no longer boots. Here are the errors that I'm getting:

/sbin/mount: error while loading shared libraries: libblkid.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
cat: /proc/filesystems: No such file or directory
/sbin/swapon: error while loading s hared libraries: libblkid.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Testing root filesystem status: read-only filesystem
Checking root filesystem:
/etc/rd.d/rc.S: line 67: /sbin/fsck: No such file or directory

Then it goes on to tell me to run: e2fsck -v -y <drive> . When I try to run the command, I get an error that the command does not exist. I really have no clue how I caused this problem or how to fix it; I merely removed extra languages, cd burning software, and other little things that I had no use for. I don't recall removed any major components. Anyways, that's my problem. Also if somebody can tell me how I would go about changing the filesystem on the hard drive from ext2 to ext3 without erasing everything I'd greatly appreciate it as well.

this package : e2fsprogs-1.35-i486-1 contains those files.
try to reinstall it from cd.

and to change ext2 to ext3 : type "man tune2fs " <return>.
