GTK warning

Installled GSB(Gnome Sl. Build ) under Slackware and have problems with it configuring.
I run from konsole(kde not running) with non root user "exec gnome-session" and get errors like this :
Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display

So, I didn't know how to find any decision.. Can anyone help?

Why are you trying to start GNOME from a running X environment? What is the end goal here?

Run 'xwmconfig'. Pick Gnome. Then log completely out and back in again.
