Grub and splash-image

Hi, i installed grub 0.95-i486-2 and i would like to use splash-image.
This is my grub file

timeout 30
color cyan/blue white/blue
splashimage=(hd0,3)/boot/grub/penguins.xpm.gz

default 0

title Slackware 2.6.9
root (hd0,3)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-ide-2.6.9 root=/dev/hda4 ro vga=773 hdc=ide-scsi hdd=ide-scsi
boot

title Slackware 2.4.26
root (hd0,3)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz root=/dev/hda4 ro vga=773 hdc=ide-scsi hdd=ide-scsi
boot

But i have no screen-shot at boot time.
Do you also know where can i find some other screens and if it possible to use hi resolutions splash-images or better animated ones like LILO?
Thank you.
Harp.
