graveman gives "Operation Failed"

No matter what settings I used, what operation, every time it's about to start burning I get this one pop-up that says "Operation Failed:" http://tinyurl.com/2zuw83

I've tried Google, but all message boards claim that the message shows all the way at the of the burning process and even then the CDs turn out to be alright. In my case, however, the error appears right at the beginning.

Any ideas, suggestions? If possible, please recommend a GTK alternatives, but lightweight - GnomeBaker and Brasero have way too many dependencies.

k3b is by far the best, but I'm looking for GTK only.
