Google Talk changes KMix mic gain all by itself!

Why does, or how can, the Google Talk plugin automatically change the gain of my USB mic? Sometimes, it sets the gain so low people can't hear me; sometimes it maxes out the gain!

thanks

in ~/.config/google-googletalkplugin/options set :
Code:

audio-flags=1

Thank you very much!

Also, do you know how I force my USB microphone to have a fixed gain value so that it keeps this value even after I unplug it in re-plug it back in?
thanks again

Yes, after I plug the mic in. But it resets to a default value after I unplug the mic.
thanks again for the help

My setup is in kmix. I can't find my mic gain/volume settings in alsamixer.

Also, I think you mean "alsactl store" (not "alsactl -store").

thanks

in alsamixer press F6 to select sound card

Thanks, but setting the volume, storing it with "alsactl store" doesn't work because I can only run "alsactl" as root and I would like the volume setting stored as my user. thanks

yes,you must run 'alsactl store' as root
when you use default alsa mixer, every time when you start,'alsactl restore' command is running

Yeah, I noticed that after rebooting my settings were indeed stored. Thanks & Happy Easter!
