Google Earth Slackbuild
Nothing to do at work today, so I made a SlackBuild for google earth to pass the time...
http://hydroksyde.gotdns.org/slackbuilds/googleearth/ I haven't mirrored GoogleEarthLinux.bin, for both copyright and bandwidth reasons, but it's probably best to get it from google anyway... that way you don't have to trust me. For those of you unfamiliar with SlackBuilds, just download the three files in the directory above to a new directory on your system, as well as GoogleEarthLinux.bin from google. Give googleearth.SlackBuild execute permission (chmod +x googleearth.SlackBuild), then execute it as root (su -c "./googleearth.SlackBuild")... This will create a happy fun slackware package in your /tmp directory, which you can then install and uninstall with the normal slackware tools (su -c "installpkg /tmp/googleearth-4beta-i686-1nav.tgz"). |
I was going to give it a try, having just heard about Google Earth this past weekend, but I can't get to your server...

Hmmm... interesting that. Can you try resolving the hostname with the host command? When I rpd into a windows box at work, I can get to my site fine...

Apparently the Great Chinese Firewall is blocking that site: Code:
mingdao@silas:~$ host hydroksyde.gotdns.org and couldn't reach you just now. Tomorrow I'll get creative... |
worked ok here.
thanks. egag |
