Google Chrome (not Chromium) and Thai language

This has been driving me nuts and I cannot find a solution for it.

I prefer to use Google Chrome as my default browser but many of the Thai language web sites I visit daily cannot be viewed properly, the font is all squares but the font appears fine in the Tab. ? ? ?

I have gone into Preferences > Under the Hood > Language and Spell-checker settings and added Thai. Close the browser and open, same results. I have searched and searched but a solution cannot be found. Anyone have a clue?

BTW, using Firefox, I do not have this problem.

Maybe this would help?

You'd try to add those lines
Quote:

<alias>
<family>serif</family>
<prefer>
<family>YOUR_FONT_HERE</family>
</prefer>
</alias>
<alias>
<family>sans-serif</family>
<prefer>
<family>YOUR_FONT_HERE</family>
</prefer>
</alias>
<alias>
<family>monospace</family>
<prefer>
<family>YOUR_FONT_HERE</family>
</prefer>
</alias>
to your ~/.fonts.conf file. Replace YOUR_FONTS_HERE with the Thai font you're using.

May have solved the problem but it's too late to test now, I need to re-install Chrome. I'll follow-up tomorrow, time to hit the rack!
