Google-chrome crashing X after -current update

Did an update to current this morning (2/23) -- am getting an X11 crash when I try to run google-chrome. I updated google-chrome and got the same result.

FYI. Anyone else run into this issue?

I did. In my case I've got an nvidia card. Re-installing nvidia-driver (I use sbopkg) reset the links that were needed.

smoooth103,

I just installed Google Chrome on my updated Slackware-current box. All is well here. I'm running an Intel graphics card on my -current box.

Reinstalled new Nvidia drivers did work for me. Seems bizarre to me that this is the solution -- but hey, thanks.

Just seems that in my typical experience that the video driver generally effects the successful start of X or all X programs, not just one program Google-chrome. That's why it seems bizarre to me. Although I've had quite a few quirky behavior type problems with google-chrome since about version 20 -- so I guess this is more of the same.

Every time you install an update for X and Mesa, it's recommended to reinstall nvidia driver again

WillySR and AlienBob are right. The libGL files which conflict with the NVidia driver are reinstalled whenever you upgrade the Mesa package.

This doesn't cause any apparent problems until a program tries to use accelerated graphics.
