Is there a brave soul out there looking to take on the challenge of creating a GNOME v3 SlackBuild?

I think that, in order to make it work, a number of core distribution packages would need rebuilding as well. It's hard to know; there are not yet any official packages out for any distro that I can find, and therefore no scripts to farm.

The only thing that I've found to go on for a build order and package list is the output of jhbuild. (Jhbuild, by the way, fails miserably to actually build GNOME on my system, which doesn't bode well.)

Does anyone have any insights? I'm trying to get one put together in my spare time, but this is bound to take me quite a while, assuming that I even finish at all. I'm following a similar model to Pat's X11 SlackBuild, lumping all 197 tarballs into one build which puts out all of the txzs.

Yes, yes ... I know; GNOME 1 and especially 2 were monumentally lame as DEs, and good on Pat dropping it from the core distribution. Nonetheless, I'd like to check it out, if for no other reason than to accurately deride it, should it follow in the footsteps of its predecessors. Who knows though; third time's the charm.

I know that there are a couple of live DVDs out, but that's no way to run an OS, in my opinion; especially with a resource-intensive DE.
