Gnome terminal colors...

Hey all:

This one has stumped me for a while, and I'm not finding the answer on Google...

I am running slackware-current, using Gnome. Before launching X-windows, when I am logged in (using bash) different file types have different colors, e.g. executables are green, directories are gray, blah blah blah

How can I get this same functionality in gnome terminal?

Thanks in advance,
Charlie

crapola

hey all:

Well, kick me in the shins and call me stupid:

Before I was typing:
'ls'

After:
'ls --color'

Of course, this produces the desired result. So I'm guessing that the gnome-terminal somehow doesn't pick up on my settings in .bashrc, etc...?
