Thanks bunches man! I'm on my way! I'm getting some Half-Life related errors now (problably a problem with wine). But I'll figure it out, hopefully.
Yeah, Wine was a bit of a pain to install, I kept getting an "invalid gcc option" error. So I ran the ./configure script separately, then the make and then tracked down the offending Makefile and got rid of the option and it worked! So far, I've been able to run simple c programs I compiled in windows and some other small win programs (like Putty). But I was even able to install Half-Life. Which I was most impressed with. You can DL Wine free at
http://www.winehq.com . But you can only DL the source for free. You've gotta subscribe (like $5 a mo. I think) to get precompiled versions. And they have links to other sites that have worked on it, for example,
http://www.transgaming.com has their own version out specifically suited to running windows games. Which is what I installed. But if you have any more questions, you can email me at
thescienceteam@hotmail.com and I'd be glad to help you out with it.
Thanks again!
