I was actually just about to make this thread, but mine doesn't crash after you load it. Mine seg faults after attempting to type in text (after opening the "Insert Text" tool and then attempting to type in text).
At first I thought it was because I had UTF-8 enabled, but then I disabled it, re-logged in, (and just to double check, even rebooted) and it still crashed when I try to type in text with the "Insert Text" tool:
Code:
$ gimp
(gimp:23268): Gdk-WARNING **: gdkdrawable-x11.c:874 drawable is not a pixmap or window
(script-fu:23278): LibGimpBase-WARNING **: script-fu: gimp_wire_read(): error
Segmentation fault

Which one's the "Color" menu?
Also, please use code tags:
Code:
Program received signal SIGILL, Illegal instruction.
0xb7616269 in ?? () from /usr/lib/libgegl-0.2.so.0
(gdb) bt
#0 0xb7616269 in ?? () from /usr/lib/libgegl-0.2.so.0
#1 0xb7613ff1 in gegl_operation_get_bounding_box ()
from /usr/lib/libgegl-0.2.so.0
#2 0x00001358 in ?? ()
#3 0xb7622114 in ?? () from /usr/lib/libgegl-0.2.so.0
#4 0x0876ecb0 in ?? ()
Backtrace stopped: previous frame inner to this frame (corrupt stack?)
(gdb)
This machine is running on nvidia optimus, but it uses the intel GPU unless I use optirun (which I didn't use for gimp).

Sorry, this is not the problem Slackware, is a bug gcc. gcc 4.7 Сompiled gcc 4.5 babl, gegl and gimp is work
Now gcc can not emulate sse, so programs that require sse and compiled in gcc 4.7 will not work on computers without sse in slackware 14, including gimp
