I downloaded and installed the new version of Gimp from the Slackware packages website and upgraded, but Gimp will not run, when I launch from bash I get the following error.
gimp: relocation error: gimp: undefined symbol: gdk_threads_lock
Has anyone else had such a problem? Is there some other dependency issue that needs to be resolved?
The dependencies relate to gtk+2, I think. I had similar issues until I upgraded a ton of stuff, including glib2, pango and gdm from Slackware currrent.
I tried to build gimp from source, one of the newer 2.0ish version, and got the same thing. Later I just upgraded gimp with swaret. In the logs the dependency check caught libiconv-1.9.1; said it is required for gimp-2.0pre3. Upgrading libiconv might clear the deps for you also.
