Gimp 2.2.13 compile on 10.2

Has anyone had much luck compiling the latest Gimp on Slackware 10.2 / current? Originally I got a build error in the po/ folder, which was related to multilanguage problems. So I fixed that, but then I was getting pango complaints, and gave up soon after. If needed I can dig up the exact error, but I'm wondering if it is a version problem since 10.2 is starting to fall a bit behind.

But that is the official package, when I'd rather compile it myself as there is a lot of cruft I don't need from Gimp (printing, gnome support, a few libraries, etc.).

maybe you need to upgrade some of your current packages, for example pango. It may requires a new version of pango

Hmm, I took your advice and tried that, but the problem is the rest of my packages / GTK / everything X11 related is linked to the old version of pango. I guess I will have to wait until Slackware 11.0 comes out and I'll just upgrade it all then.

I was able to compile gimp-2.2.13 On a Slackware 10.2 box with the following invocation:
Quote:
./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc --localstatedir=/var/lib --enable-python --with-x --without-libpng
I do have alot of gnome libs installed (particularly the printing libs needed for the latest abiword and gnumeric)
