Ghostscript 8.64 issue in current

I have a strange issue with Ghostscript 8.64 (the one in -current at this date) : once installed, I cannot print anymore using the Epson-ALC1100-filter-1.2 driver for my Epson C1100. I just need to downgrade to the Slackware 12.2 ghostscript 8.63 and it works fine again.
I've tried reinstalling, even recreating the printer, but to no avail.
Up until 8.64, when I print, gs seems to give the hand to an "alc1100" process to actually print. With 8.64, the "alc1100" never start to work.
Cups doesn't provide any error in /var/log/cups/error_log at this point nor do I see anything in syslog or messages.
Did anyone else experience something similar?

Have you tried reinstalling the printer?
Cups caches a copy of the ppd, so after upgrading gs and/or hplip, the cached ppd often (usually) has invalid information in it.

I did try to reinstall the driver of the printer and modify the current printer to use the reinstalled PPD, but it didn't change anything.
I didn't try to delete the printer and recreate it completely though.
Usually, previous ghostscript updates didn't have any bad impact, so I thought to ask if there was any known incompatibilty or not.
I guess I should try to completely recreate the printer after upgrading, just to be sure.
