hey guys, im running slack 10.1 and i have a audigy ls sound card on 5.1 speakers. i fallowed a few instructions on how to recompile alsa to actually get sound to work but i only get the front channels. yes, ive fooled around with alsamixer and all that stuff. and yes i know its coming from a stereo source when its something like mp3's. i would just like to get all the speakers going(including sub). if anyone has any ideas on this let me know. on a quick sidenote. how would one go about changing the default sound device used by mplayer?
in the extra directory on CD #2 is emu-tools
this program enables digital output, surround, the use of sub woofer, and other things................READ EVERYTHING IN THE Install, Readme files first before compiling and install!!
