Getting a tv tuner card to work

I have a tv tuner card installed but can't seem to get it to work. It is an ATI All in Wonder Radeon 32M 4X AGP DVI-I. If anyone has been successful in making this card work, I would greatly appreciate some advice.

Thanks
Dan

Could we see the /sbin/lspci -v output please?
Good luck.

And the output of 'lsmod' too.

Do you have the ATI drivers from their website installed?

I was lost where to start on slackware to be honest, I put suse on the pc and saw what drivers it loaded, and then checked out there kernel config as in the beginning i had no clue what to do.

You will need to recompile slack's kernel for it i can tell you that. be sure to pay attention to the 'digital video for linux' section in the kernel compile.

I've got it to load drivers in slackware. Now I'm going thru hell and back to try and get software to work with it, not everyone honors the old 'DESTDIR' command. I've got audio no video tho. Most of the ATI's are supported by the linux kernel. Many of them use the brooktree chipset too so keep an eye out for that.

the kinfocenter displays mine correctly, even if drivers aren't loaded. the pci information is at least sent to KDE correctly drivers or not drivers, just as ls pci would show.

i really can't give any more info as I'm stumbling here too.

oh by the way the ATI remote wonder works beautifully in linux.

Sorry to take so long getting back. This is an ongoing project of mine at work. (I work for a local tv station) I've been trying to come up with a system to set up a TIVO like box with Linux and finally got this old micron machine to play with. It isn't connected to the network though so i'll have to get that done when I get time. I only get to work on this when nothing else is broken. I appreciate all the advise though. The info in the original post was taken from micron's site with a serial number look up. Thanks again will post more later.

Hi All,
Sorry to take so long getting back to this. I have been busy with a misbehaving transmitter.

I have a fresh install of Slack -current and xorg.conf set up with ati all in wonder drivers. I followed the links from ati's web site to gatos, but from the way I read they have merged the driver code into x.org.

The card will tune local stations with xawtv, but so far I have not been able to get myttv working.

edit: I don't understand why lsmod shows a hauppauge card???? Where would I look to change that??
