3. Install these DEPs before compiling everything: (I used slapt-get and slacky.eu as an repository, but you can download them manually if you don't use slapt-get)

- gconftool2
- orbit2
- policykit

4. Compile and install everything in this order (compiz team recomendation):

compiz
bcop
libcompizconfig
compizconfig-python
ccsm
compiz-fusion-plugins-main (it must be built before plugins-extra as it contains necessary header files)
everything else

4. Main trick is to enable compiz correctly (applies only for intel GEM cards like i965). You should go System settings -> Default applications. Then go to window manager and choose to run compiz using a wrapper script.

5. Create the script /usr/bin/compiz-kde-launcher:

Code:
#!/bin/bash
LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT=1 INTEL_BATCH=1 compiz --replace --indirect-rendering --sm-disable ccp &
emerald --replace&
Then everything should work.
i followed every thing i could from this post on my system and still

the compiz manager is not in function, i have installed all the deps form the posts , and still when i try to run compiz it freezes my window edges and wont replace ,,

what can i do ?

Does compiz give any errors when you run it with the /usr/bin/compiz-kde-launcher script?

Check once again and make sure that the script is workable. What you are describing is an effect of not enabled indirect options as it should be below.
Code:
#!/bin/bash
LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT=1 INTEL_BATCH=1 compiz --replace --indirect-rendering --sm-disable ccp &
emerald --replace&
I had it as well till I managed to enable INDIRECT.

invoking this command also freezes my window edges, but dont turn on the compiz manager ,

it gives ou a number like 4281

and does nothing

Smile

Just to inform, With Mesa 7.6 and libdrm 2.4.14, compiling the intel driver 2.9.0 gives me a boost in glx applications.

I would like to see whether this accelerates the GMA965/960 just like my XHD4500.
